Extend the service life of your genuine cowhide cooling mat with correct usage, daily cleaning, and professional seasonal maintenance.

First Use Guide

Our cowhide cooling mat is made of 100% genuine top-layer buffalo hide from Sichuan Three Gorges Reservoir Area. Natural pores, subtle grain differences and slight color variation are unique natural features, not quality defects.

  • Unfold the mat and lay it flat on a flat mattress.
  • Wipe the surface gently with a soft damp cotton towel to remove dust.
  • Air dry in a cool & ventilated place for 10–20 minutes. Do NOT expose to direct sunlight.
  • The slight natural leather odor of new products will disappear after 3–7 days of ventilation.

Daily Usage Tips

Genuine cowhide is soft, breathable, and temperature-adaptive. Proper daily use keeps the mat flexible and cool for years.

  • Lay flat on mattresses, avoid long-term suspension or uneven force.
  • Keep away from sharp objects such as keys, scissors, and hard ornaments to prevent scratches.
  • Avoid long-term heavy pressure on a single position to prevent minor deformation.
  • Suitable for normal-temperature rooms and air-conditioned rooms, cool but not icy, friendly for elders, kids and pregnant women.

Cleaning Instructions

Important: Genuine cowhide cannot be soaked, machine washed, or rinsed with water.

  1. Daily Cleaning: Wipe the surface with a clean, wrung-out damp cotton towel, then air dry naturally in shade.
  2. Slight Stains: Use a small amount of neutral soapy water or leather-specific cleaner for gentle wiping.
  3. Stubborn Stains: Clean gently with soft brush or towel, then wipe clean with water and air dry.

Prohibited: Alcohol, disinfectant, bleach, strong acid or alkaline cleaners.

Seasonal Storage Method

Correct storage can effectively avoid leather hardening, mildew and creases.

  • Before storage, wipe off all sweat and dust, ensure the mat is completely dry.
  • Roll it up gently (do not fold hard or press tightly) to avoid permanent creases.
  • Put it in a dust-proof bag with moisture-proof packs.
  • Store in dry, cool and ventilated place. Keep away from sunlight, heaters and humid walls.

What We Do Not Recommend

  • No Sun Exposure & High Temperature — Will cause cracking, fading and hardening.
  • No Water Soaking & Machine Washing — Will cause delamination, deformation and mildew.
  • No Chemical Corrosion — Avoid cosmetics, oil stains and chemical liquids.
  • No Hard Folding & Heavy Compression — Prevent irreversible creases.

Normal Natural Phenomena

The following situations are natural characteristics of genuine cowhide, not quality problems:

  • Slight color difference, uneven pores and natural leather grain.
  • Slight hardening in low tempera
